Class 6 & 7 have been working on the theme of “Wish, Wonder and Surprise” in their English main lesson. These words have great resonance for children of this age, who spend a considerable amount of time wishing they were older, stronger, wiser or freer, and wondering about their future in an uncertain world. The main lesson work called forth their imaginative powers and encouraged them to project their inner thoughts into the written word, as in the photos. It seems fortuitous that this main lesson should come at a time when many of us are wishing and wondering and maybe even looking forward to a time when we will feel the positive sensation of a surprise…
